PHP, IOP & residential recommendations
Sometimes weekly outpatient therapy is not the right level of care. This is a community resource list of programs we know and trust. We share it freely with our existing clients and with anyone in the community who is looking.
When outpatient therapy is not enough.
Sometimes a person needs more support than weekly therapy can provide. That is what higher levels of care are for. We have compiled this list as a community resource and a starting point. We do not place clients in these programs and we are not paid to refer to them; we share what we know.
What PHP, IOP, and residential really mean.
Typically 3 hours a day, 3 to 5 days a week. Most clients keep working or attending school. Adds structured group and skills work alongside individual therapy. A common step up from weekly outpatient.
A day program, typically 5 to 6 hours a day, 5 days a week. The client lives at home but spends most of the day in treatment. A step between IOP and residential when more support is needed.
The client lives at the program and receives round-the-clock support. Used when day programs and IOP are not enough, or when stepping down from inpatient hospitalization is needed.
